This project is titled 'Fabricated Truth' and was on display at Black Box exhibition in Rochester as part of Medway Photo Festival. My aim with this project was to make a comparison between the conscious and sub-conscious mind. As a camera mimics the way our eye works, being inside a camera obscura is similar to being inside an eye. By flipping my images upside down the viewer first sees the exterior view, which is drawn by their sub-conscious. As they realise there is something strange with the image they will soon notice that it has been flipped. Their conscious mind will flip the image around and make sense of what is going on. I decided to use people in this project because I found that they represent the way dreams can quickly slip from our memory. This project was shot on a Canon 5D inside camera obscuras.
